Data Storage

Alarm Planner stores your alarms, tags, sounds, and settings on your device using SwiftData. There is no account and no login, and we run no server that holds your alarms. Your data stays on your device, apart from the optional iCloud Backup described next.

iCloud Backup

So your alarms survive a reinstall or a move to a new iPhone, Alarm Planner can back them up to your own private iCloud. Backup is on by default when you are signed in to iCloud, and you can turn it off at any time under Settings, iCloud Backup.

When backup is on, a copy of your alarms, tags, custom sounds, and app settings is written to your personal iCloud storage, held by Apple under your Apple Account and covered by Apple's privacy terms. It is not sent to us, and we cannot see it: we have no server and no access to your iCloud. If you turn backup off, no copy is written.

This is a restore point, not live cross-device sync. Alarm Planner does not continuously sync your alarms between devices; it saves a backup you can restore.

Analytics

We use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to collect anonymous usage analytics. This helps us understand how people use the app so we can make it better.

What we collect:

What we do not collect:

Analytics can be disabled at any time in Settings, under Help out, with the Share analytics toggle.

Notifications and Alarms

Alarms are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device using Apple's AlarmKit framework. Alarm delivery does not depend on any server, and we operate none. Alarm Planner does not use push notifications and does not require a server-side component to function. The optional iCloud Backup above is the only case where alarm data leaves the device, and it goes to your own iCloud, never to us.

Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to third parties. The only third-party service used is PostHog, for the anonymous analytics described above. PostHog data is stored on EU servers and never linked to you as an individual.

Your Rights

Because all your alarm data stays on your device, you control it directly:

If you are an EU/EEA resident, the GDPR grants you additional rights regarding any data we process. Contact us using the email below to exercise them.

Children's Privacy

Alarm Planner does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require an account or any personal information to function.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in any meaningful way, we will update the "Last updated" date above and surface the change in the app on the next launch.
